We’re a Kansas City-based brand focused on clean, low-profile caps with just the right amount of personality — subtle logos, quality fits, and a little local character. Inspired by Red Friday and built for weekends, backyard hangs, errands, and everything in between, Thread Friday was made for dads (and anyone else) who want to look good without trying too hard.

No frills. No loud branding. Just a great hat.

Thread Friday: Kansas City’s Minimalist Dad Hat Brand Built on Local Pride and Everyday Style

Thread Friday KC offers a thoughtfully curated collection of minimalist dad hats inspired by the heart and soul of Kansas City.

Thread Friday: A Kansas City Brand Built on Simplicity, Stories, and Style

At Thread Friday, we believe the best things in life are the simplest ones. A cold drink at the game. A slow Friday night in the neighborhood. A clean, comfortable dad hat that just gets it. We’re a Kansas City-based apparel brand on a mission to bring those good vibes to life—one minimalist hat at a time.

Thread Friday was born from a love of local culture and a desire to wear it with pride. We were tired of hats that screamed for attention but said nothing about where we’re from or what we care about. So we set out to make something different: hats that speak softly but carry a deep sense of place. Hats that feel broken-in, not over-designed. Hats that say, “Yeah, I’m from here—and I love it.”

Each of our hats is inspired by the everyday charm and quirks of Kansas City life. From baseball tailgates to First Fridays in the Crossroads, from burnt ends to boulevards, our designs are subtle nods to the culture that raised us. Whether it's the crack of the bat at the K, the hum of summer cicadas, or the skyline at sunset, we stitch those small, meaningful moments into every release.

We’re not chasing trends—we’re building tradition. Thread Friday dad hats are timeless, wearable, and made to last. Designed with comfort in mind and built for everyday wear, they’re perfect for the bleachers, the brewery, or wherever your weekend takes you. The minimalist style means they pair well with anything, but the local flair means they’re never generic.

As a local apparel brand, we take pride in staying rooted. That means working with Kansas City creatives, collaborating with other local businesses, and giving back to the community that shaped us. We partner with KC printers, embroiderers, and designers to make sure our hats aren’t just made for the city—they’re made in it. Every stitch supports someone local.

We launched Thread Friday with one goal: to make the hat you reach for every time you leave the house. Not the hat that sits in your closet with the tags still on, but the one that’s a little sun-faded, maybe a little sweat-stained, and completely yours. That’s the soul of a dad hat—and we think Kansas City deserves more of them.

Our collections drop in small batches and sell out fast, not because we’re trying to create hype, but because we want to keep things intentional. We believe in quality over quantity and storytelling over mass production. Each collection, like our Ballpark Collection, taps into something real—something that makes you feel connected to a place, a moment, or a memory.

Thread Friday is for people who love where they're from—and want to wear it, quietly and confidently. You don’t need big logos or loud graphics to make a statement. You just need a clean design, a great fit, and a story worth telling. And that's what every Thread Friday hat is built on.

We’re proud to be part of a new wave of midwest-inspired fashion—where local pride meets clean design. As we grow, we’re staying true to the values that got us started: simplicity, authenticity, and hometown love. We're not here to be the biggest brand on the shelf. We're here to be your favorite.

So whether you're new to Kansas City or KC born-and-raised, welcome to Thread Friday. Pull up a chair, grab your favorite hat, and stay awhile.

Because around here, every Friday is a Thread Friday.
